Most Bishkek cafes open by 08:00 and many stay open until midnight. White Night’s Orozbekova bar runs from 06:00 to 02:00, so there is rarely a bad time for a flat white, and several of the specialty bars below roast their own beans.
This guide covers 17 cafes: specialty bars, a film lab with a coffee bar, a gallery with pottery classes, a room full of cats, and the best places for breakfast and cake. Each entry has what to order, the address and the opening hours, and every cafe is on the map.
They are sorted by what you are in the mood for. For the rest of your day, see our guide to things to do in Bishkek.

Flask is our first pick for coffee in Bishkek. Its team are two-time national coffee champions, with Coffee Cup wins in 2024 and 2025.
The single-origin list reads like a roaster’s logbook. It has included a Colombian natural from La Cumbre Papayo, fermented for 80 hours, with notes of pineapple, yoghurt and cherry.
It is also an easy place to stay a while. Flask has long been popular with freelancers and students, breakfast runs until 21:00, and there is a full dessert range.

The menu is built around curated specialty coffee, and the room suits meetings and laptop hours. The pastry counter is hard to walk past, and the sandwiches are worth a look too.

414:59
Named after a barista competition rule
The name is a coffee in-joke: at the World Barista Championship, competitors get 15 minutes, and 14:59 is the last second they can finish without losing points. Those competitions inspired the owners to open this place.
They roast their own beans here, and the cafe faces the Imam Sarakhsi Mosque across the road. If espresso isn’t your thing, there is matcha and fresh lemonade too.

The autumn 2026 menu is the one to order from: an Ashkabak spice latte (ashkabak is Kyrgyz for pumpkin), pear and jasmine tea, an apple Americano with cinnamon, and coffee mulled wine. There is also a modern take on shoro, the traditional Kyrgyz drink.

Tips for cafe-hopping in Bishkek
- Download 2GIS. It is the map app to have in Kyrgyzstan, and the easiest way to find cafes and get around.
- Check before you go. Cafes here move, open new branches and sometimes close. A cafe’s Instagram and its 2GIS listing are the quickest way to confirm the address and hours.
- Go late. Many Bishkek cafes run until midnight or later, so an evening coffee is completely normal here.
- Know when to book. Reserve ahead for the Utrechkoff cat zone and Arte. Macaronnaya takes no bookings at all.
