Travel information

We write every guide in good faith and check it against current sources, but prices, opening hours, visa rules, roads and border crossings in Kyrgyzstan change, often without notice. Check anything important, especially visas, permits, border crossings and weather, with official sources before you rely on it. Nothing on this site is legal, medical or safety advice.

Mountains and outdoor activities

Hiking, trekking, horse riding and driving in Kyrgyzstan carry real risks, from altitude and sudden weather changes to remote areas with no phone signal. You take part at your own risk. Hire local guides where a guide recommends them, and carry travel insurance that covers what you plan to do.

Our content

The text, maps and design of Mostly Mountain are ours. You’re welcome to share links and to quote short passages with credit and a link back. Please don’t republish whole guides, or large parts of them, without asking first.
